Come out! We know you’re in there.
If you are an adult, own your own business, shy with women, can’t tell a joke and soil yourself when the MC calls your name, you need to blog. Blogging is freedom. Blogging is your way to smash the world in its indifferent face with your thoughts, ideas, products and revelations. If you don’t have the cojones to take the leap, you are doomed to the life of a dead tibetan monk. As I’m often fond of saying, someone left the gate open and you are free to go. So go!
Say what you want about me and my rantings but spell my name right. Punch me in the face but don’t you dare ignore me. You may not agree with me but I am present. The internet has leveled the playing field. I’ve known it for twenty years. I am capable of taking down anyone who has mistreated, screwed or manipulated me. To the entire world. And I ain’t shy. I will pull your pants down. That, my friends, is freedom.
But I also have a lot to share either through years of living or business experience. I have insights and stories because after all, we are all story tellers. Stories come in many forms, books, poems, songs and my personal favorite, jokes.
If you are the least bit shy, lazy, think you’re gonna be discovered by Spielberg and don’t care to share your original thinking with the world, practice this phrase: “Paper or plastic?”
Oh, the people I meet with incredible points of view, unique skill sets and amazing ideas we could all benefit from that are all either too lazy or too terrified to take the podium because of their self-conscious navel gazing. If you are truly sharing your gift(s) you won’t be worried about your fly being open.
Blogging, for as long as it’s been around, for as long as it’s been maligned and frowned upon by some, is still your ticket. The price of admission is content. Interesting, informational and heartfelt content. Beautiful!
All the publishers, agents, publicity pukes and book cover designers, gone or almost gone. Make your own deal. Introduce yourself. The gate keepers are dead, long live the gate keepers!
Hello world!
What if I soil myself for fun? Bob, sage advice whether you are 20, 50 or 80! Camus said, “to know oneself, one should assert oneself.” As you are. Thanks for the reminder! Keep blogging Enlightened Rogue. Dr. Steve
